Who is the Taxpayer Advocate? The Taxpayer Advocate offers support to taxpayers who have been unable to resolve their state tax issues through the SCDOR's normal, established procedures. The Taxpayer Advocate is empowered to intervene on a taxpayer's behalf if they determine that the SCDOR's actions are creating an undue hardship, or the agency isn't justified in its actions.
