  • If you’re responsible for submitting Withholding returns and required to file electronically, the Batch Withholding Program is a great option for you!

The South Carolina Department of Revenue's (SCDOR) Batch Withholding Program has moved from GoAnywhere to MyDORWAY, the SCDOR's free online tax portal. Effective June 17, 2024, the SCDOR will only accept Batch Withholding returns filed on MyDORWAY.

If you're already filing Batch Withholding Tax returns, here's what you need to know:

  • Existing Batch Withholding filers do not need to submit a new application. The SCDOR has automatically updated your MyDORWAY account to include Batch Withholding Program access.
  • Now that the program has transitioned to MyDORWAY, your entire Batch Withholding file will be rejected if it contains invalid FEINs or Withholding file numbers.
  • You'll be required to submit a Batch WH Backup Report at the time you submit your Batch Withholding file.
  • After you've successfully submitted your Batch Withholding file, you will receive an immediate confirmation from MyDORWAY instead of waiting for an email confirmation.

If you're responsible for filing Withholding returns, but not already participating in the Batch Withholding Program, here's what you need to know:

For tax professionals who file more than 100 Withholding returns per year and are required to file electronically, our Batch Withholding Program is a great option. But you don't have to file that many returns to participate; the Batch Withholding Program is open anyone who files at least 10 returns per quarter.

  • The Batch Withholding Program is safe, secure, and available 24/7.
  • Batch filers submit one file for multiple clients or accounts, including both original and amended returns in the same file, which cuts down the amount of time it takes to file.
  • Also, because MyDORWAY automatically detects file errors, misfiled returns are reduced.
  • You must be registered with the SCDOR before you can apply to become a Batch Withholding Preparer.
  • In-state and out-of-state businesses or preparers can register using the SCDOR's MyDORWAY Business Tax Application at dor.sc.gov/register.

Once you're ready to apply, log in to MyDORWAY, select the More tab, and click Batch Withholding Program Application.

Along with the Batch Withholding Program's transition to MyDORWAY, preparers now have new, quicker payment options:

  • You can now use MyDORWAY to request ACH Credit payment approval for a client, which immediately gives preparers ACH Credit banking and format details.
    • This can be done for any tax type that accepts ACH Credit payments, not just Withholding Tax.
  • Our new Bulk Withholding Debit Payment process allows preparers to make ACH Debit Withholding pre-payments from one bank account for multiple Withholding accounts.
    • To receive access to Bulk Withholding Debit Payments, you must first submit a Batch Withholding Program Application.
    • You do not have to file a Batch Withholding return to make a Bulk Withholding Debit Payment.

If you have questions about applying for the Batch Withholding program, filing a Batch Withholding return, or using either of our new payment options, watch our tutorial.
