SCDOR agents arrested a Beaufort County businessman on Wednesday and charged him with operating without a retail license.
Robert Madison Taylor, 57, of Bluffton, is the operator of a flooring business in Beaufort County. Taylor’s retail license was revoked in July 2024 for unpaid Sales Tax, according to an arrest warrant. He was advised to close the business and cease sales until he had a valid retail license. However, an investigation found Taylor continued making retail sales without a license.
If convicted, Taylor faces a maximum sentence of 30 days in jail and/or a $200 fine. He is being held in the Beaufort County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
