Frequently asked questions

Please review our procedure documents in the above table. Make sure to follow naming conventions, as our new system filters by file name. This will help expedite your submission review.

All submitted packages are assigned within 1-2 business days of receipt. We have a standard 10 business day turnaround and do not provide updates between assignment and approval. You will be informed as soon as your submission has been reviewed. South Carolina state holidays may impact your processing time.

We develop forms as the changes are provided to our team. As soon as a form has been approved for posting, it will be updated on the website. For large releases, such as annual changes, we will send out an email update. If we are aware that something is going to be delayed, we will notify vendors accordingly.

Send an email to SoftwareDevelopersForms@dor.sc.gov with the subject line “[form name] broken link.” Include a screenshot or link that shows us exactly what the issue is.

No forms on our site are password protected. If a password is requested, there is an error. Send an email to SoftwareDevelopersForms@dor.sc.gov for assistance.

Yes. If the revision date on your previously approved form does not match the revision date on our Software Developers website, the new version should be submitted for approval.

Additionally, if you have updated your software to a new version that impacts specific forms, you must resubmit those forms.

Forms with older revision dates may not process properly and be returned to the sender, which can create fees and delays for the taxpayer. Always use the most current form.

Some forms require test cases. Those forms are designated on our site as Scan Line Required and their links will take you to a landing page that includes test cases, specifications, and examples of the final version of the forms.

When submitting test cases, all test cases for the same form should be combined into one PDF. For example, if you are submitting a 1065V and an 1120CDP, include all five test cases for the 1065V in one PDF, and all five test cases for the 1120CDP in another PDF.

Forms that contain 2D barcodes should also follow these guidelines.
