Operator of Charleston County restaurant arrested on charges of operating without retail license
Thursday, May 8, 2025
SCDOR agents arrested the owner of a Charleston County restaurant on Thursday and charged her with operating without a retail license.
Paula Diane Alexia Nelson, 58, of Summerville operated Crepes Palace, a North Charleston restaurant. According to an arrest warrant, her retail license was revoked on December 18, 2024, due to an unpaid tax balance. But after her license was revoked, Nelson continued to operate the business without a license, the warrant alleges.
If convicted, Nelson faces a maximum sentence of 30 days in jail and/or a $200 fine. She is being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center in Charleston for a bond hearing.
