​Free File Options for South Carolina

These providers offer free electronic filing of both federal and South Carolina returns to South Carolina taxpayers who meet the qualifications listed. You must start your return by clicking a link to a provider's website from this page. 1040.com offers free federal and state tax returns if you meet one the following qualifications:
  • Your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) was $60,000 or less, and you were under the age of 52 as of December 31, 2018 or
  • Your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) was $66,000 or less for Active Duty Military or
  • You qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC)

  • If your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) is $66,000 or less and 
    • You are between the ages of 17-51 (as of 12/31/2018) or
    • You were Active Duty Military or
    • You qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC)
