​​ Fees​

  • License fee: $200 per Sunday or $3,050 per year

License requirements

  • You must have a valid Business (Restaurant or Hotel) Liquor by the Drink License​.
  • You must submit a completed Application for Business Local Option Permit (ABL-29), including all supplemental forms. See Required Forms below for more information. We recommend applying on MyDORWAY, but if submitting a paper copy of the application, make sure it’s signed and dated.

​​​​The fastest, easiest way to submit these forms and apply for a Local Option Permit is by using our free online tax portal, MyDORWAY. After logging in, scroll to the ABL account you need an LOP for under the Accounts tab, then select More Account Options​. On the next screen, select Apply for a Local Option Permit.

  • ​The deadline to apply on MyDORWAY​ is 12 p.m. on the Saturday immediately preceding the Sunday you wish to conduct sales.

No. On-Premises Beer and Wine Permit holders which are located in a county or municipality that has passed a referendum approving Sunday sales of alcohol do not need to obtain a Local Option Permit to sell beer and wine on Sunday.

Additionally, 7 Day On-Premises Beer and Wine Permit holder do not need to obtain a Local Option Permit to sell beer and wine on Sunday.

Yes, you must obtain a Local Option Permit to sell liquor from 12:00 a.m. until 2:00 a.m. on Sunday​.​

No, you may only obtain a Local Option Permit for one Sunday at a time, or on an annual basis.
