Welcome to the New SCDOR Website

It’s still us—just with a fresh new look! The SCDOR launched our redesigned website this week, and we hope you’ll take a look around. Take a virtual tour or read some quick tips!

File and pay your Individual Income Tax online! On average, more than 90% of SC Individual Income Tax returns are filed online each year. Here's why:

Automatic calculations reduce the chance of errors.

Systematic checkpoints ensure your return is complete before your return can be submitted.

Filing online is the fastest and easiest way to complete your return, which means we can start processing it faster.

How to file

File online

File by paper

Filing by paper increases your chances of errors and paper returns take longer for us to process, which may delay any refund you may receive.

How to pay

Pay online with MyDORWAY

We recommend MyDORWAY for the easiest and safest way to pay your Income Tax bill online using a credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) or from your checking or savings account. Make a payment or learn more about MyDORWAY.

Other payment options

If you file by paper, you can submit your payment information when you file or mail us a check.

Drafting your payment from your bank account is easier and faster than mailing in a paper check. Skip the post office, avoid getting your check lost in the mail, and simply check the ACH Debit box on line 36 and enter your banking information on line 37 of the SC1040.

To pay by paper check, mail the check to the address on the form, letter, or notice related to your payment, and please note:

  • The SCDOR only accepts checks drawn from a United States bank.
  • Your check may be converted to a debit (ACH) transaction which will process your payment faster from your bank account, and your payment will show as an electronic payment on your bank statement (you will not see a scanned image of your check).

We urge customers to be cautious of third-party online bill payment websites, including DOXO, when attempting to pay their SCDOR bills online.

DOXO is not affiliated with the SCDOR, and we cannot accept responsibility for transactions made through that site. DOXO and sites like it may charge additional fees, and the SCDOR cannot control when payments made through the site will be received. Customers will be responsible for missed or late payments.

The SCDOR offers online bill payments through our online tax portal, MyDORWAY, even if you don't have a MyDORWAY account. There are no additional fees for paying on MyDORWAY. You can access the payment portal on MyDORWAY without logging in by:

  • Visiting mydorway.dor.sc.gov and clicking Make a Payment
    OR
  • Typing dor.sc.gov/pay directly into your browser's web address bar
Example: Example browser URL for dor.sc.gov/pay

Please note that typing “dor.sc.gov/pay" or similar search terms into a search engine like Google, instead of directly into your browser’s web address bar (as shown in the example above), may return results for DOXO and other third-party sites.
