Request a Certificate of Compliance
A Certificate of Compliance provides confirmation that all tax returns and taxes administered by the SCDOR have been filed and paid by a taxpayer.
A compliance letter certifies compliance for businesses as well as individuals and is valid for 30 days from the date it is issued.
Am I eligible for a compliance letter?
We can only issue compliance letters to South Carolina taxpayers. If you do not have a filing history in South Carolina, you are not eligible for a compliance letter.
If you’re in forfeiture and would like to request a compliance letter, you will need to complete the
C-268 Form, Certificate of Tax Compliance Request Form and
pay a nonrefundable fee of $60.
Note: Your request may be approved or denied.
